Meet our team of eye doctors ready to tend to your eye care issues:

Dr. Sunil (Sunny) Mehta

Dr. Mehta was born and raised in Edmonton and attended the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. He graduated in 2004 and moved back to Edmonton to be close to his family and pursue employment opportunities. He worked in group practices in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert and Lloydminster. Dr. Mehta settled down in Edmonton and got married in 2008. Since that time, he has started a young family. He is interested in several eye pathologies and research. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends, including playing golf in the summers and travelling with his family.

Dr. Joanne Ngo

Dr. Ngo graduated with honours from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She was born and raised in Edmonton and moved back home in 2010 to practice primary care optometry; she is proficient at treating ocular disease and loves providing eye care to your entire family. Dr. Ngo looks forward to family dinners at Grandma’s house each week. In the winter, she enjoys snowboarding in the mountains. She holds a black belt in Chinese kung fu and currently teaches aspiring martial artists in the community.

Dr. Debbie Yeh

Dr. Yeh is a University of Waterloo School of Optometry graduate who has provided eye care services in family oriented practices for several years. She works with her patients to provide solutions for their visual needs using glasses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery as options to enhance their vision. Along with managing a wide variety of eye diseases, she also routinely provides vision training. Dr. Yeh enjoys working with patients of all ages and from diverse backgrounds. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Min-nan, further expanding Bonnie Doon Eye Care’s multicultural environment. Away from work, Dr. Yeh enjoys cooking, reading, camping and hiking.

Dr. Tahsin Rashid

Dr. Rashid graduated from the University of Alberta in 2009 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2013. Through his participation in externships, conferences, and research, Dr. Rashid has demonstrated expertise in all branches of Optometry. While at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto, CA and San Jose, CA, he managed patients with a high prevalence of ocular and systemic disease. During his time in Silicon Valley, Dr. Rashid became interested in myopia control, which led him to become skilled in fitting specialty contact lenses to patients of all ages. While in the Advanced Pediatrics tract at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, he received in-depth training in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Alberta Association of Optometrists, and the Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Rashid enjoys being active in his spare time with his wife, playing hockey, cycling, and traveling.
