When Should I Bring My Child For An Exam?

Did you know 80% of learning depends on your vision? So making sure your child is seeing well is essential to successful learning, 1 in 4 children have undetected vision problems.

Luckily Alberta Health Care covers routine eye exams yearly for all children 18 and under.

Our doctors recommend that infants have their eyes examined between 6 and 9 months of age, again between the ages of 2 and 5, then yearly after beginning school as vision can change frequently as they grow.

Children don’t always realize they have a vision problem and assume that what they see is normal. Symptoms of a vision related problem can include, headaches, light sensitivity, and avoiding near or distance work.
