Dr. Amanda Stout
Dr. Stout graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry on the Dean’s Honour List, accumulating many academic awards along the way. She first became interested in the visual system while completing her Bachelor of Science at McGill University in Montreal. With a focus on primary eye care for the whole family, Dr. Stout prioritizes listening to discover unmet visual needs and helping patients gain a better understanding of their eye conditions. Her past experience includes rotations through specialty clinics in dry eye disease, contact lenses, pediatrics, and low vision. She also completed an externship in Florida, managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In her spare time Dr. Stout can be found running trails, reading novels, or playing soccer. Originally from Nova Scotia, she is enjoying exploring Edmonton and looks forward to taking care of the eyes of its residents.
