Meet our team of eye doctors ready to tend to your eye care issues:

Dr. Sunil (Sunny) Mehta

Dr. Mehta was born and raised in Edmonton and attended the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. He graduated in 2004 and moved back to Edmonton to be close to his family and pursue employment opportunities. He worked in group practices in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert and Lloydminster. Dr. Mehta settled down in Edmonton and got married in 2008. Since that time, he has started a young family. He is interested in several eye pathologies and research. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends, including playing golf in the summers and travelling with his family.

Dr. Joanne Ngo

Dr. Ngo graduated with honours from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She was born and raised in Edmonton and moved back home in 2010 to practice primary care optometry; she is proficient at treating ocular disease and loves providing eye care to your entire family. Dr. Ngo looks forward to family dinners at Grandma’s house each week. In the winter, she enjoys snowboarding in the mountains. She holds a black belt in Chinese kung fu and currently teaches aspiring martial artists in the community.

Dr. Amanda Stout

Dr. Stout graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry on the Dean’s Honour List, accumulating many academic awards along the way. She first became interested in the visual system while completing her Bachelor of Science at McGill University in Montreal. With a focus on primary eye care for the whole family, Dr. Stout prioritizes listening to discover unmet visual needs and helping patients gain a better understanding of their eye conditions. Her past experience includes rotations through specialty clinics in dry eye disease, contact lenses, pediatrics, and low vision. She also completed an externship in Florida, managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In her spare time Dr. Stout can be found running trails, reading novels, or playing soccer. Originally from Nova Scotia, she is enjoying exploring Edmonton and looks forward to taking care of the eyes of its residents.

Dr. Sarah Cheng

Dr. Cheng was born and raised in Edmonton, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at New England College of Optometry in 2013.
Growing up in the Millwoods community she saw her local optometrist annually and quickly gravitated to the profession. Seeing optometry as an opportunity to deliver quality and patient centered care is one of the most enjoyable aspects of her profession.
During her time spent in Boston she acquired the knowledge and skills to serve patients from all ages and backgrounds. Her most memorable experiences during this time was working in Boston’s community centers and the Veteran’s Affair Hospitals.
Some of her favorite past times are spending time with friends and family along with running.
